Confession

I have a confession...I liked the Twilight movie. I have not read the books, and only watched Twilight about a week or two ago...but I like it. AND I want to see New Moon. I am so ashamed.

Likes/Dislikes

It's been awhile since I have posted a new blog...so I will make this entry a list of current likes and dislikes...cuz that is important!

Likes:
  • Eyeshadow...it's like art for your face!
  • Being scheduled to open at work on Black Friday...watching crazy people for the win!
  • Friends...cuz I am slightly over-emotional today.
  • My kitties...cuz Thor is sitting behind me on the couch taking turns looking at me and then the door (pretty much telling me he is making due with me until Money-Maker walks in the door).
  • Movies...cuz I have an urge to go to the theater and eat popcorn.

Dislikes:

  • Having to get up at 2:30 am on Black Friday.
  • Not knowing my work schedule far enough ahead of time...by the time I know my schedule everyone already has plans.
  • Friends living so far away.
  • Cleaning...do I really need to say anything else about that?
  • Money-Maker working late when I need some entertainment.

Cuppiecakes

I got to make cupcakes today! Yay!

I love to bake and decorate cakes. It is so much fun!

I made cupcakes for a baby shower we are having for a girl at work. They are just basic chocolate cupcakes with blue buttercream and sprinkles, but they were fun to make.

I need excuses to bake more...put in your orders now!

Just Another Day of Hotness

So I went grocery shopping today at the big smiley face place. Here is the highlight of that experience...

I was walking along puching my cart (buggy for you suthren crazies), happily spending the Sugah Man's money. I am dressed like I usually am...jean capris, flip flops, low cut shirt (those of you who know me in real life know I like to let the "girls" breath).

I pass a guy on the main aisle. He smiles and says hi. I say hi back. He says "you look good." I say thank you and keep walking. He says something about phone...I swear I heard "phone a friend"...but anyway, I took it to be something about wanting my number. I said "no, I am married" and turned down an aisle to get Sugah Man's shower gel so he can smell good for me. He comes back to the aisle and tells me I have a nice shape. I say thank you again. Then he asks if he can take my picture...I say no. Now, I am smiling and laughing at him the whole time because he was nice and funny, but in the back of my mind I was thinking, "is this about to get really creepy?" Then he asks again if he can take my picture and says he can take it from the neck down...I am choosing to believe this is because he thought I didn't want to be recognized, not because from the neck up is bad. I say no again. His final attempt was asking if he could get a hug. I say no again and tell him he is crazy as I laugh and walk off.

Then it got creepy. I walked down the next aisle and another guy peeks his head around the end of it. Then his head disappears and I hear something about big...I am choosing to believe he was talking about my tatas and not me in general. I guess the first dude told his friend to check me out...but peeking dude was older and creepier.

Sigh...I can't take the "girls" anywhere. ;)

I'm Baaaack!

Ok, I have not blogged for a whole week...you guys are probably going through withdrawal, right?

I had a fabulous weekend! I spent the whole weekend with Invisagirl, Saturday night with Hedgehog, and a few other people made guest appearances in my weekend. the only thing that could have made my weekend more fun would have been Mannequin joining us...sigh.

Friday night "Invisagirl" and I had dinner with Purple, Prada, and Prada's husband, Sequins. Prada had on a fabulous Prada jacket and red lipstick...loved it! Prada also had a few drinks, she was silly. Sequins told us about his new skis and his new red, sequined ski boots...I can see him on the slopes now.

Saturday afternoon iInvisagirl and I attended a wedding before heading up to K'ville to steal Hedgehog from her smart people boarding school. when we got there Hedgehog informed us that she put down Invisagirl as the responsible adult on the leaving school form...I really couldn't argue with this, but sigh. We also decorated Hedgehog's room for Halloween...scary!

Then we headed to Da Forge for the night, where we kept hedgehog up past her bedtime...bad aunties. At Da Forge we finally decided on a hotel to stay at, then we headed out for some F-U-N! We went to MagiQuest where we went through the mirror maze, the laser room, and played MagiQuest...I must admit defeat to Invisagirl, how did she beat me?!?!?

By the time we headed for dinner it was 10:30 and the Chinese restaurant hedgehog requested was closed for the night...don't worry, we still fed her, TGIFriday's for her! At TGIF we had a guy waiter, maybe in his early twenties. He was checking out our little Hedgehog, we thought we should have low jacked her before we let her go to the restroom on her own. When he brought us our check he ended up giving it to Hedgehog cuz he pointed at the hot tea on the ticket...when she said she didnt' order hot tea Invisagirl said "No, he was calling you hottie". Waiter said ssshhhh...and then Invisagirl told him she is only 16...hahaha. Waiter was like "woah, I better back off". Then he talked about how girls are maturing much earlier these days and it is hard to tell how old they are. When he came back to the table Invisagirl gave him a glimmer of hope that he could have Hedgehog by saying "She isn't 16" when he asked for my ID with my debit card...he thought she was talking about hedgehog. He ended his night with "16 will get you 20" and a note on the check that told him I was going to blog about him trying to pick up a 16 year old.

The next day we made a quick drive through the Burg since I have not been there...I love all the kitschyness! I am going to try to get Sugah Man to take me there for our 5th anniversary in May. Then when we were finally heading back to K'ville (Hedgehog had a lot of homework to do and needed to get back early) Invisagirl got a bad tire on her car. We hade to stop and have it fixed, which made Hedgehog get back to school later than we planned, but we got more time with her, Yay!

WotW

This week's whine is more of an angry/sad rant.

While I was working earlier today I overheard a woman telling her grand-daughter they needed to 'get some pounds off of her". This little girl was about six years old. She was slightly chubby, but not fat...and she was adorable. This grandma is starting a life of self-esteem issues for this poor little girl at such a young age! I understand wanting your children, or grandchildren, to be healthy...but shouldn't you change the way you feed them instead of making them feel bad about themselves. Couldn't she just start feeding her healthier stuff and leave it at that? Isn't this little girl going to go through enough self-esteem issues on her own later in life...even if she is not overweight later in life, isn't there enough in our world to make her feel bad?

I am still heart broken for this little girl...thinking about it makes me want to cry for her.

Usually I am a "more is more" kinda girl, but this rain is ridiculous now! More chocolate, good. More shopping, good. More presents, good. More sparkles, good. More rain, bad. Sigh.

Bleah

It is one of THOSE days...if you are a girl you know what I mean. I want to stay at home, curl up on the couch, and eat chocolate. But instead I must go to work...but on the way I will stop at Starbucks. That will make me happy for a few minutes. *Sigh*

Shop 'til You Drop

I want to go shopping. I have the shopping urge. But I will have to wait until Saturday or Sunday. I don't know what I want to shop for, but I want to shop. Yay for shopping!

Gucci teal velvet hip-huggers

I was scared when my friend said she won these from ebay, but they are not bad at all. I was imagining Austin Powers-70s-bright teal-bell bottoms. But they are cute in the picture...kind of a dark gray with a hint of teal. And they aren't bell bottoms. I think they will be cute on my friend, and I can't wait to see them on her in person. I imagine the Gucci pants, white shirt, cute heels, and red lipstick. I wish I could carry off red lipstick like she does...sigh, I will stick to my lip gloss (cuz it is poppin')...but I ain't hatin', I be appreciatin'! I think it is about time for a girls night of dancing to debut these pants...who's in?

Dear Trophy Wife

Today I will answer my first Dear Trophy Wife question. Remember ladies and gentlemen, if you have questions for the Trophy Wife send them to sharastevens@hotmail.com with Trophy Wife in the subject. On to the question...

Dear Trophy Wife,
I am wondering how you keep your hair so perfectly coiffed in all this rain.
Sincerely, MessY RainHaired and in a Dilema

Dear MessY,
The secret is staying out of the rain! I do not go out into the rain unless it is absolutely necessary because it would mess up my look. When I do have to go out in the rain an umbrella is a must! And I must say, my hair just has this natural bounce that goes where I want it to, it just takes a little mousse. But if you aren't blessed with my bouncy-with-only-a-little-mousse hair, you can always try a pony tail, just make sure it is a cute and not sloppy, you don't want to look like you just finished working out or something nasty like that.
Sincerely,
The Dry and Bouncy Trophy Wife

Rain, rain, rain

Now I like rain and thunderstorms, but when it gets so bad that streets closed and people are dying I have issues with it. Enough already! From drought to flooding...ridiculous! It isn't raining right now, but there are thunderstorms and rain in the forecast every day until Sunday. They showed an elementary school on the news that was completely covered up to the roof.

And rain brings out stupid people!!! yesterday a lady walked past me at the store I work at (yeah, I work to feel like I contribute...but don't worry, I don't work much or make much, so I am still a good trophy wife) anyway, the lady walks past proudly saying, "I drove an hour and forty-five minutes to get here because I couldn't get to the store by my house because of the flooding." Now mind you, this store sells clothing and home stuff,,,so it isn't like she drove there for food or medicine for her sick baby. She might as weell have walked past saying, "Hey y'all, I am a stupid b*&%@!", because really that is all I heard. Stupid people!

My thoughts go out to the families of the people who have died because of these storms and the flooding. It is all very sad.

(P.S. On a different note I would like to take a second to acknowledge Elephant Appreciation Day in honor of my friend "Mannequin". No, I am not calling her an elephant! But apparently this is an important holiday for her since she texted me three times in a row this morning about it, and she also blogged about it. So for all you elephants out there...I am talking about animals here...I appreciate your cute little trunks.)

FYI

Any questions for the trophy wife can be sent to sharastevens@hotmail.com. Please put "Trophy Wife Questions" in the subject area. Thank you.

Support Please!

Alright, today let's talk about something near and dear to my heart...BOOBS! More specifically, bras. Girls, bras are your friend! Make use of them, please! Now I can excuse you members of the itty bitty titty club, I can't hate on you being able to go braless. But if you have big boobies, or saggy boobies, you should make use of a bra every day. Not only will it lift your girls and make you feel better, but no one wants to see your boobs down by your belly button. So do yourself, and everyone who has to see you, a favor and invest in a few bras...they don't even have to be cute, just functional! And all you itty bitty girls...keep rockin' those halter tops!

Whine of The Week

It is finally time for the long awaited Whine of The Week. I know you all have been waiting for this, so I am going to give my people what the want. (Another lesson in being fabulous: give the people what they want.)

Let's start our Weekly Whines out with something simple...eyeshadow that looks bright in the package and then when you go to put it on you have to LAYER that stuff on to get it that vibrant color. I am a fan of the bright colorful eyeshadow...blue, green, purple, teal...I love it! But when I put it on I always have to keep adding layers to make it bright enough! Grrr!!! (That is my angry growl.) So if anyone out there knows of a good bright eyeshadow I should try, please feel free to buy some for me as a gift. I love gifts! Just let me know and I will get my contact info for you so you can wrap it up and send it on over.

Argh!!!

My friend "Mannequin" told me today is National Talk Like A Pirate Day so I thought I would take a moment to say...NO PLUNDERING THE BOOTY!!!

This silly pirate talking day made me wonder what other holidays are today...and guess what I found?!?! It is the most perfect holiday ever! Today is...WIFE APPRECIATION DAY!!! That's right, I think this must be a gift giving holiday. While a trophy wife is appreciated every day it is nice to have a day where every wife can be appreciated.

So to all of you wives out there...make sure you get the appreciation you deserve today. And to all you single ladies (put your hands up)...I am sure you get your appreciation day at some point, so until then just keep being fabulous.

Acceptance speech

I would like to dedicate my first post to the important people who make my life as a trophy life both possible and enjoyable. Warning: do not read the text in paranthesis, it is mushy and icky.

First, and I must say most importantly, my husband Tom. Thank you for working so hard and making that money. Without it I would not be where I am today. (Also, thank you for being such a caring and supportive part of my life.)

Second, the kitties. Thor and Freyja, thank you for being there for cuddles even though I do not feed you or change your litter box...let's be serious, those are jobs for a Tom...and even though you do not really like me. I know you two put up with me simply because you know Tom and I are a package deal. (*cuddle*)

Third, my Melisa and Paula, without you I would not be where I am today...literally, I would still be up in that cold, snowy state. Thank you Melisa for helping me accept my place in life as a trophy wife, for being my willing drinking and dancing partner, and for sharing your offspring with me...which helped me realize kids aren't that bad, expecially when they are 11 and 16. (You my girl, Boo!) Thank you Paula for taking me shopping and teaching me the fine art of spending money, for being my usually unwilling drinking partner...until the first sip anyway, after that the clothes fly off...and for enabling my Coach love (You my other girl, Shawty!)
